What is Memory Foam?
Visco-elastic foam better known as “memory foam” is a super comfortable foam that responds to the body’s temperature and then perfectly conforms to the body’s shape. As the memory foam conforms to the shape of the body, the pressure points that normally develop from sleeping on unforgiving surfaces are significantly reduced. The body’s weight is redistributed so that more of the body is in contact with the sleep surface. Since this conformability of the memory foam allows every square inch of the body to be supported, the overall skin pressure is reduced by as much as 50%. This decreases pressure points increasing circulation and supporting the spine in a more natural position. Customers report much better sleep, less tossing and turning and waking up feeling refreshed and well rested. Originally developed by NASA for use by the astronauts to provide the perfect amount of support over extended periods of time – particularly during periods of increased G-force, such as lift-off and re-entry – memory foam has ushered in the next generation of superior bedding and comfort technology. It was such a great success that hospitals began ordering memory foam mattresses for bedridden patients, patients with arthritis, burn patients and others who might require more comfort and support. It didn't take long for someone to realize how attractive these memory foam mattresses would be to home users. A Swedish bedding company quickly turned concept into reality by marketing the first generation of memory foam mattresses to general consumers: Swedish memory foam by Tempur Pedic. Tempur Pedic ™ has made memory foam a household word. We feel that was a good mattress – a little too firm, but still a quality item. And it carries a price tag to match. A better buy is the higher quality but lower priced new generation of Isotonic and Extraordinaire Memory Foam Mattresses, Isotonic and Structure Mattress Pads, Contour Pillows and Comfort Products manufactured by the E. R. Carpenter Company. All About Carpenter Memory Foam
Carpenter Company is well known for making Omalon, a type of foam designed for use as a carpet underlay. Omalon is so durable that it maintains its resilience even after many years of being walked on. By incorporating a modified version of Omalon in their memory foam mattress, Carpenter has been able to produce a better, more durable product at a lower price than the original Tempur Pedic Swedish foam. Here’s how E. R. Carpenter Company describes their fantastic Isotonic memory foam:
The great technology that comes with the Isotonic Mattress is now also available in many other great Carpenter products. From their super comfortable Isotonic Mattress Pads to the unique Structure Mattress pads, from the Isotonic pillows to the Supreme Lumbar Pillow and from the great Exercise/Yoga Mat to the Articulated Bed, Carpenter has done it again – innovative products with superior comfort and low, low prices!!
